Outlook Signature Block
The Microsoft Outlook Signature Block
The signature block in Microsoft Outlook is stored locally on a computer. This is why customized signatures do not follow users from computer to computer. If someone wants an efficient method for copying signature blocks, they can copy the existing signature block files on the local computer and move them to a different computer.
The signature block files can be located at the following path: %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Signatures.
To copy the files, follow the steps below (which are on the Microsoft Office website):
1) Exit Outlook on the source computer.
3) Open the folder where signatures are saved (type %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Signatures in Windows Explorer).
4) Copy the signature files that are within that folder to an external media (e.g. a flash drive).
5) Ensure that Outlook is not open on the destination computer.
6) Navigate to %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Signatures within Windows Explorer.
7) Copy the files to the Signatures folder.
8) Ensure that Outlook has the new signatures.
Please note that %APPDATA% is only for the current user (for example, ben.reath). The absolute path for the Outlook files is as follows: C:\Windows\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Signatures. You can use the absolute path to retrieve signatures for other users if they need assistance.
