Online Learning Orientation (OLO) is a class on Blackboard intended for first time online students. It MUST be completed before any other courses will show up for the student.

General Info

  • All new online students will be required to take a mandatory online course called, "Online Learning Orientation" in the Blackboard learning management system.
  • A new online student is a student that has not successfully completed an online course here at Bay College.
  • It is important that you complete this prior to the beginning of the semester.
  • You have access to the Online Learning Orientation as soon as you register for an online course.
  • This course takes about one and a half hours to complete.
  • It will take 24 hours after your completion of the Online Learning Orientation to get access to your online courses.

Taking the OLO

  1. Go to the Blackboard Log In page
  2. Log in with your user name and password (if you have not set up your username and password go to the Password Manager)
  3. The middle heading called "course list" will have a course listed called Online Learning Orientation. Click on the course title, Online Learning Orientation, to enter the course.
