This page will show users how to operate the video conferencing unit in room 108 at Bay West. If you need assistance with this room, please contact one of Bay College's IT Helpdesks:

Usage

Powering on Room 108

The ITV System in room 108 is controlled via the AMX touch-panel. It is located on the right side of the ITV system.

1. To activate the AMX touch-panel, press anywhere on the screen. The following screen will appear:

2. Press the System On button on the AMX touch-panel.

3. The AMX touch-panel will show this screen as it starts up:

4. As the ITV System starts, the TV will power on and display the Sharp logo:

5. If the TV remains blank, please power on the TV. The power switch is located on the left side of the TV and is the top button

6. After the ITV system is powered up, press the video dial button on the AMX touch-panel:

7. This will bring up the following screen on the AMX touch-panel:

8. Ensure that the place a call button is highlighted on the TV screen:

9. Press select on the AMX touch-panel:

10. After pressing select, the TV will display this screen:

11. Press the down arrow on the AMX touch-panel to select the appropriate roon

12. By pressing the down arrow, you will scroll through the list of ITV rooms. The currently selected room will be highlighted as you scroll through the list:

13. Press call on the AMX touch-panel to dial the selected room (in the above picture, room 825 on the Escanaba campus would be dialed).

14. If the call is successfully dialed, the other room will be displayed. Once you are finished with the call, you can hang up the call. To hang up the call, press the hang-up button on the AMX touch-panel. Please note that the system has a built in sleep mode, so it will power off by itself.

15. If the camera needs to be adjusted, you can select one of the built in presets. To access this menu press the Camera button on the AMX touchpad

16. This will bring up the following menu on the AMX touch-panel.

17. The presets menu allows you to adjust the camera to the built in presets. You can also manually move the camera by using the arrow and zoom buttons.

18. The Self-View button will allow you to see the picture of room 108. This button is found in the Video Dial Menu of the AMX touch-panel.

The bottom portion of the AMX touch-panel contains the volume controls.

Using the Document Camera

1. If they are not already, power on the computer, ITV system, and AMX touch panel.

2. Press the Start Content button on the AMX touch panel. The computer screen is displayed on the TV.

3. Press any key to bring up the login screen and enter in your Bay College username and password.

4. Open the document camera software, which is called VisionAP software. To do so, go to the start screen by clicking the Windows Key, then search for 'VisionAP.' Click the VisionAP icon to open the software.

5. The VisionAP software opens and the Document Camera view is displayed on the screen.

6. To stop displaying the computer on the TV, press the Stop Content button on the AMX controller. Remember to sign out of the computer when you are done using it.
