Connecting to the Bay College Wi-Fi

Bay College Wi-Fi
Android
To connect to the BayCollege Wi-Fi, first navigate to your device's settings. Once located, select Wi-Fi.
You will see various available Wi-Fi connections along with other networks your device has joined in the past. Select BayCollege.
A screen will pop up with information about the network. Change the CA Certificate drop down to Do not validate
Android 11 Notes:
With the release of Android 11 on some newer phones such as the Pixel, the option to use "Do not validate" has been removed leaving some people unable to connect to the "BayCollege" Secured WiFi.
Follow the steps below to connect your Android Device running Android 11 to the "BayCollege" wireless network. Note: If you do not currently have network access, you may need to connect to the Bay Guest wireless to while going through these steps.
1. In order to setup the WiFi on your phone running Android 11 or potentially newer, you will need to download the Certificate:

Note: If it does not download, hold down on the link and select "Download Link."
2. Keep in mind which folder the Certificate is downloaded to. Typically, it downloads to the "Downloads" folder.
3. Once the file is downloaded it will need to be installed in your System Settings.
To do this: go to the Settings App, navigate to the "Security" section, then find "Encryption & Credentials." Look for "Install a certificate," select the "WiFi Certificate" option. Note: If you are having troubles finding "Install a certificate," or "WiFi Certificate" try using the search bar inside your Settings App and search for "Certificate." You may have to scroll through the search results to find it.
4. When asked to Install the WiFi Certificate, it will open up a File Explorer. Navigate to where the file from Step One was downloaded, and select the file named "BayCollegeWiFi_2021-2022.pem".
5. It should ask for a name. Name it: "BayWiFiCert".
6. Once the Certificate is installed, we are ready to sign in to the WiFi.
To do this: Find your phone's WiFi settings and select the Bay College secured WiFi. Configure the WiFi using the information found in Step Seven. Note: If you tried connecting to the "Bay College" WiFi in the past, it may say that the network is "saved." It is best to forget the WiFi before trying to add it again.
7. It should provide various options to configure. Configure using the following information below:
-Under CA Certificate: select the "BayWiFiCert" that was installed & named in Step Five.
-Under "Online Certificate Status": select "Request Certificate Status."
-Domain: baycollege.edu
-Identity: network\username
-Anonymous Identity: *Leave Blank*
-Password: Your Bay College Password

Apple(IOS)
1. To connect to the BayCollege WiFi, first navigate to your device's Settings. Once located, select WiFi. Once you are under WiFi, select BayCollege.
2. The BayCollege WiFi will prompt you for your credentials, please enter your Bay username and password. When entering your username then press Join.
3. If the Certificate window pops up press the Trust button for either of the valid BayCollege certificates. Note that the Batman certificate has been renewed and is not expired although the screenshot displays an expiration date that has past.
4. At this point, your WiFi settings should indicate that you are connected to the BayCollege network. Turn on Auto-Join to automatically connect to Bay's WiFi whenever you are on campus.
Personal Computer
To connect to the BayCollege Wi-Fi, click the network button located on the right side of the taskbar (bottom right of your computer screen). Available networks to join will be listed, click on BayCollege.
Once you have clicked on BayCollege, click 'Connect'. If you do not wish to always connect to this network, uncheck the box next to 'Connect automatically'.
Once you have clicked on BayCollege, you will be prompted for a username and password, use the credentials you use to login to Bay. When entering your username, be sure to enter it as "network\(backslash)your_username" When you have finished entering in your information, click 'OK'.
You may be asked if you want to continue connecting. Should this happen, click 'Connect'.
After you click 'Connect', BayCollege should indicate that you are connected.
