Usage

Powering on CB201D

The videoconferencing technology in CB201D utilizes the local PC found on the podium. The computer should always be on but in the event that it is shut off, you can use the keyboard shortcut "ALT P" or open the cabinet and push the power button the tiny pc:

Once the PC is on you will need to decide on which display you would like to use. The room has a 50" Samsung TV on the wall and a Epson projector retracted in the ceiling. If you want to use just the TV select the Samsung remote shown here and press the power button:

The default input should be HDMI 1 and will show the computer screen if it is awake. In the event you have a blue screen or no input, use the remote to select the correct input. If you want to use the overhead projector, you will need to bring both the projector and screen down from the ceiling using wall plate controller next to the podium here:

Pushing the down arrow will bring the screen and projector down while pushing the up arrow will bring it back up. Once the projector is down you will need to power it on using the Epson remote shown in a picture with the podium.

It is important to remember to turn off the projector before putting it back up into the ceiling. Failure to do this will result in the projector overheating and could cause damage or destroy the laser diodes. If you want to use both the projector and the TV you can without any issues but make sure you have both devices turned on before trying to push content. If you turn on either the TV or projector while content is being shown, you will have about 14 seconds of disconnect before the Gefen switcher is able to bring back both screens.

Using the Gefen Switcher

If someone is planning on bringing their own device instead of using the PC on the podium, they can connect via the HDMI cable located at the top of the podium. Once the device is connected you will have to use the Gefen in the podium to switch between "local" mode and "BYOD" mode. The front buttons are labeled and it only takes one push to seamlessly switch the video:

Button #1: Splits projector and TV as different displays (you can click and drag different media to each screen)

Button #2: Pushes content from external device if connected to HDMI cord on podium. Please note that sound will not work from any device used this way in CB201D

Button #3: Duplicates local workstation on both the projector and TV screen.

If the device that is being brought doesn't have a HDMI port, you will have to contact the help desk to provide an adapter.

Calling Another ITV System

The default application used for videoconferencing would be Skype for Business although Zoom or other web browser based applications can be utilized as well. If the call is between the main campus or any other ITV room in the college you will need to either search for the room in the contacts list (which may take some time to populate) or you can type in the room name and call it directly. Adjusting the Camera

The camera used in CB201D is a 3X Wide Huddlecam located in front of the TV. The camera view is wide enough to encompass the entire room but in the event you want to zoom in on someone, you can use the remote on the podium

Should you want to change the direction or zoom of the camera, you can follow these steps: Locate the remote and make sure the camera is powered on (the camera will have a blue light on the front). If the camera is not powered on simply press the "Power" button and give the camera a few seconds to initialize. Once the camera is on, under the "Camera Select" press the number 1 button. Once the camera is selected you can use the navigation arrow buttons to move the camera view and the "Zoom In" or "Zoom Out" to do just that.
