Passwords

  • Create strong and unique passwords

Lock your screen

USB drives

  • Don't plug in random flash drives you find.
  • Don't be so sure someone else's flash drive isn't infected.
  • Use Encryption for any sensitive information.


Mobile Devices

  • Use a passcode or password
  • Encrypt your device
  • Don't trust any app...20% of Android apps have malware. Yes, iPhones have security issues too
  • Backup your data
  • Don't trust any Wi-Fi and use VPN whenever possible.


Personal Device Tips

  • Use a Standard User Account for everyday activity. 80% of malware cannot run on a standard user account.
  • Backup, backup, and backup. Make sure you have at least one separate backup of your important information.
  • Use anti-malware software
  • Make sure the computer OS and software are up-to-date.
